Expedition was flagged off on 15th Dec 1995 at azad hind Memorial in Singapore, travelled to Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and entered to Imphal, Manipur(India) then Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, UP and reached to Red Fort at Delhi on 28th Jan 1996. Afanasy Nikitin, a trader of the growing Russian state during the reign of Ivan the Great, made a historic and fascinating journey from Tver (near Moscow) to India during 1469-70. He traveled by way of Casplan region and Iran, stayed in India from 1471-74, returning to Russia by way Gulf and Turkey.
A 14 member team with an eclectic mix of historians economists and trade analysts, explorers, journalists photographers and film crew travelled in 4 SUV-s through the routes Nikiin followed In the 15th century. To get a complete picture, the expedition route was a mix of his onward and return journeys including the important places he visited in India. Expedition travelled from Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran to India in 45 days.

Starting in September 2013 from Dead Horse Creek on the Arctic Ocean in Alaska, the four-month journey ended at Cape Horn, the southernmost tip of South America.
